Chapter History

The idea to form the Oak Ridge Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was that of several area Brothers with the effort being spearheaded by Bro Charles Crowe. 

With six Brothers in attendance, the first meeting for the purpose of organizing area Omega Men was held on August 21, 1983.  After much work and effort by the group, the application for the chapter's charter was completed and filled on May 5, 1984. Three months later, August, 1st, 1984, the National Organization granted the charter "Zeta Gamma Gamma" to the Oak Ridge group. On October 6, 1984 Zeta Gamma Gamma held its chartering ceremony. Fifteen brothers took the oath as Charter members of the chapter.
